Eko Hot Blog reports that the Defence Media Operations (DMO) has said soldiers on internal security operations around the country have killed 48 terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, and other criminal elements who have terrorized the country in the last two weeks.
In the last two weeks, soldiers detained 113 bandits, kidnappers, oil thieves, and terrorist informants, and free 41 kidnapped people, according to the DMO.
Major General Edward Buba, Director of the DMO, announced this during a media briefing on the status of military operations performed between July 13 and July 20, 2023, in several theatres of operations across the country.
During the review period, forces uncovered and destroyed 45 illegal refineries, 15 wooden boats, 34 storage tanks, 96 ovens, and 16 dugout pits, according to him.
Troops also collected 367,200 litres of crude oil, 27,150 litres of Automotive Gas Oil, 220 rounds of various ammunition, six calibres of firearms, three automobiles, and ten motorcycles.
According to Buba, military operations around the country have continued to produce incredible results, including the destruction of multiple criminal hideouts, and the arrest of high-profile criminals, and terrorist informants, among other things.
