“A provocative and unacceptable video footage trending on social media, depicting certain individuals dressed in military camouflage mistreating civilians, has been brought to the attention of the Nigerian Army.”
“The condemnable incident, reportedly occurring at 2Season Hotel and Resorts in Kaduna, goes against the values and principles of professionalism, courage, selflessness, and service to humanity that the Nigerian Army upholds,” added Nwachukwu.
As a disciplined and dedicated force committed to upholding the constitution, defending the nation’s sovereignty, protecting its territorial integrity, and assisting civil authorities, the Nigerian Army maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward actions detrimental to the rights and well-being of the public.
Consequently, the Nigerian Army authorities have promptly launched an immediate investigation into the veracity of the audio-visual footage. The primary objective is to identify the individuals responsible for the reprehensible acts captured on video.
“If it is determined that the persons clad in military camouflage are indeed personnel of the Nigerian Army, appropriate disciplinary measures will be taken in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Armed Forces Acts,” stated Nwachukwu, highlighting the seriousness with which the Army views such transgressions.
The Director of Army Public Relations expressed appreciation to the public for their continued support of the Nigerian Army. He assured law-abiding citizens that they can carry out their legitimate activities without fear of harassment or intimidation from any quarter.
