Nigerian Army’s Determination To Eradicate Crude Theft In Delta State
Eko Hot Blog reports that Brigadier-General Salisu Aliyu, the Commander of the 63 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Delta State, has pledged to eliminate crude oil theft and combat criminal activities in the region.

This commitment was made during the inauguration of projects completed by Lieutenant-Colonel AN Abubakar, the Commanding Officer of the 181 Amphibious Battalion in Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State.
In his statement, General Aliyu emphasized, “Let me use this medium to reiterate the need for troops to sustain the tempo of the operations against crude oil theft in the state. The contributions of the Brigade towards the fight against crude oil theft and other criminal vices are equally appreciated. Therefore, we must sustain these achievements in support of national security for the economic prosperity of our nation.”
General Aliyu stressed the importance of sustaining operations against crude oil theft for the economic prosperity and national security of Nigeria.
He acknowledged the contributions of the Brigade in the fight against criminal vices and emphasized the need to maintain the achievements.
During the inauguration, General Aliyu reaffirmed the competence, commitment, and achievements of the Brigade in line with the Chief of Army Staff’s (CoAS) philosophy.
He encouraged troops to continue their efforts to eliminate crude oil thieves and maintain security on the home front.
Commending Lieutenant-Colonel Abubakar for the completed projects, General Aliyu expressed optimism that these developments would set the stage for the barracks’ overall development.
He urged officers to take ownership of the projects and instill a positive maintenance culture for the benefit of future generations of the Nigerian Army.
Lieutenant-Colonel Abubakar highlighted the significance of the projects in providing an enabling environment for officers, soldiers, and their families.
The projects include facilities such as the Warrant Officers and Sergeants Mess, a five-bedroom accommodation for guests on transit, a NAPEX, a restaurant, signposts along the highway for security awareness, a Guard Post, and electricity lines connected to soldiers’ accommodation.
