- Church of Nigeria Cut Ties with Wales Over Lesbian Archbishop
- The Appointment of New Archbishop, Right Reverend Who is Open About Lesbianism.
- He says the Move is an Act of Disobedience Against God.
The Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) has officially severed its relationship with the Church in Wales following the appointment of the Right Reverend Cherry Vann, an openly lesbian cleric, as the Archbishop of Wales.
Eko Hot Blog reports that this announcement was made by the Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Most Rev. Henry Ndukuba, during the 14th Church of Nigeria Conference of Chancellors, Registrars and Legal Officers.

The Conference was reported to have held at the Church’s national secretariat in Abuja.

Describing the move by the Church in Wales as a clear deviation from biblical teachings, the Primate said the Church of Nigeria could not remain in fellowship with any group that promotes what it considers unbiblical practices.
“We firmly reject the elevation of Cherry Vann as Archbishop of Wales. It is not in line with the teachings of Scripture,” Ndukuba stated in his keynote address themed ‘The Decade of the Reign of God: Progress, Challenges, and Prospects’.
He further likened the development to the 2003 consecration of Gene Robinson, an openly gay bishop in the United States, which also led to Nigeria cutting ties with the Episcopal Church (USA).
“Just as we responded then, we are responding now. The Church of Nigeria hereby ends all communion with the Church in Wales,” he declared.
Ndukuba raised concerns over what he called the growing influence of liberal theology within certain parts of the global Anglican community. He insisted that the Church must remain grounded in Scripture and not bow to the pressures of modern ideology.
“They call it culture and inclusivity, but to us, it is a rebellion against God’s word. We will not compromise,” he added.
Despite the break in relations, the Primate expressed support for Anglican faithful in Wales who remain committed to orthodox doctrine. He assured them of continued fellowship through movements like the Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON)

“We will continue to stand with our brothers and sisters who uphold the faith, and we pray that the light of truth will shine again in the Church in Wales,” he said.
