The Federal Government has declared Monday, September 16th, 2024, as a public holiday in commemoration of Eid-ul-Mawlid, the Islamic festival celebrating the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

In the statement, the Minister extended his congratulations to the Muslim community both in Nigeria and abroad, urging them to embrace the values of patience, sacrifice, and resilience during this period.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, further conveyed the Minister’s message, encouraging Muslims and Nigerians at large to use the holiday to pray for lasting peace and a more prosperous and fair nation.
