According to reports, Mba passed away on Wednesday night while receiving treatment at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH. His wife confirmed the news of his passing on social media, leaving fans and fellow musicians in shock.

In August 2018, Mba performed at an evening of tributes organized by the Copyright Society of Nigeria in memory of the late Ras Kimono. The event was attended by some of Nigeria’s biggest names in music and was a testament to Mba’s enduring popularity.

Mba was not only a talented musician but also an active member of the PMAN Caretaker Committee and COSON. In the past, he had solicited funds for his health challenges, but unfortunately, the appeal did not raise much money.

His death is a significant loss to the Nigerian music industry, as he was a prominent figure in the 80s and had a significant impact on the music scene at that time. His signature Jerry curl and hit songs made him a fan favourite, and his contributions will always be remembered.

Tributes have been pouring in on social media, with fans and fellow musicians expressing their condolences to Mba’s family and friends. Many have also shared memories of his music and performances, highlighting the impact he had on their lives.
