Nigerian Senator, Fidelis Okoro Is Dead

Fidelis Okoro a former senator who represented the industrous people of Enugu North senatorial zone in Enugu state is dead.

It was learnt that Fidelis Okoro slumped and died.

  • The senator died in Abuja after a lingering health complications which had taken him in and out of Nigeria in the past few years.

It is not clear the immediate cause of his death today but a lot of sympathizers have been thronging his Abuja residence to condole with members of his family

Before he died late senator Okoro was a customs officer, where he retired before venturing into politics in the second republic. He later became a commisioner under the Nwobodo civilian administration.

Late senator Okoro was elected senator for Enugu north senatorial zone between 1999-2007.

The late senator who was popularly called his Igbo title of Agbadaman was an industrialist, political leader, socialite and a team player in politics.

The family will soon release programme for the interment of his remains

The former senator who was elected on the platform of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) before joining the Peoples Democratic Party in 2001 served as senate committee chairman on Industries as well as member, Police Affairs, Agriculture and Niger Delta committees.
