Nigerians in Diaspora have been described as the most hardworking immigrants group whose contributions to the socio-economic development of their host nations, including America cannot be quantified.
The President Emeritus of Eko Club International, Attorney Omotayo Jamiu Lawal made this declaration during an exclusive interview with a correspondent of Eko Hot Blog at the recently concluded convention of Eko Club International in San Antonio,Texas.
Lawal’s assertion is coming on the heels of Xenophobic attacks against foreigners in South Africa of which Nigerian nationals have been major victims.

Particularising with America, he said Nigerian Immigrants have the highest level of education not only in Houston area but in the entirety of the United State of America.
He said in addition, they had excelled in their various chosen fields, making valuable contributions to the development of this great nation.
“With well over four millions Nigerians in the United States, the community will always have its own share of malefactors but to castigate a Nation of one hundred and eighty million as criminals is not only unfair but also disingenuous, he stressed.
While responding to a question from Eko Club Correspondent on seventy seven Nigerians that were decalred wanted by FBI for various internet crimes, he referred to those as the few Nigerians giving all the country a bad name.
“I can’t wait to see them have their days in court and let justice take ist course”, the president emeritus said.
He reiterated that he was proud of the achievements thus far recorded by Eko Club International beginning from inception.

Lawal said the Organisation had always been in the forefront of advancing programmes aimed at making life more meaningful for the under-priviledged and that none of its members have been involved in any fraudulent act.
According to him, America is not just a land of opportunities but a veritable platform to actualise one’s dreams provided one stayed focus and worked hard.
He therefore urged Nigerians in the Diaspora to continue to comport themselves and be law-abiding so as not to tarnish the image of our Country.
