Nigerians React To Okonjo-Iweala’s Confirmation As DG, WTO

Nigerians on social media have jubilated over Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as the new Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, WTO.

Ngozi Okonjo’s appointment was confirmed on Monday at a special meeting of the WTO special council.

With the appointment, Okonjo-Iweala became the first Nigerian, first African, and the first woman to hold this prestigious position.

Her appointment has stirred Nigerians’ reactions on social media who applauded her and described the new position as well deserved.
