Some Nigerians have accused the federal government of violating the social distancing rules while asking for a refund of N100,000 fine paid by actress Funke Akindele.
Ekohotblog reports that this erupted after photos of the burial rites of Abba Kyari, the deceased chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari surfaced online.
Kyari, on Friday died of coronavirus complications, 25 days after testing positive for the virus.
He was buried on Saturday, according to Islamic rites, but the burial had more than 20 people in attendance, which is contrary to the social distancing rule to curtail the spread of coronavirus.
Recall that Akindele alongside her husband were days ago sentenced to 14 days community service for breaking the rule by throwing a party which also had more than 20 people in attendance.
Reacting to a large number of people present at Kyari’s burial, some Twitter users alleged that the “lawmakers are lawbreakers”, while also calling on the government to apologize to the A-list actress.
