This victory marks the Falconets’ second win in three Group D matches, earning them six points—equal to group leaders Germany.

In a thrilling contest, Okwuchukwu assisted Bello for the opening goal in the 16th minute and then scored herself with a header in the 28th minute. Sebastine added a third goal just before halftime, tapping in during added time.

The Falconets’ fourth goal came in the final moments, with substitute Igbokwe unleashing a long-range screamer to cap off the match.

Despite finishing level on points with Germany, the Falconets placed second in the group due to an inferior head-to-head record and goal difference.

Nigeria will now face the top team from Group E, either Japan or Austria, in the knockout stage on September 13.
