EKO HOT BLOG reports that President Bola Tinubu emphasized during the 25th Democracy Day Anniversary Dinner at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, that the federal government will determine a new national minimum wage within its financial capabilities.
Addressing leaders of the National Assembly, represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Tinubu reaffirmed the government’s commitment to meeting its obligations responsibly.

He said, “Senate President, Deputy Senate President, you’ll get a notice if I change my mind on minimum wage. There’s nothing about minimum wage; we’re going to do it, according to what Nigeria can afford, what you can afford, and what I can afford. They ask you to cut your coat according to your size if you have any,” the president said.
The president acknowledged Nigeria’s complexity and diversity and emphasised that democratic governance remains the best road to success in any country.
“Nigeria is blessed with our complexity. Our diversity is unending, but it is the best road to success.”
He said that bandits’ activities hindering farmers from high productivity must end for the country to fully benefit from the initiatives introduced by his administration to tame food prices.
