EKO HOT BLOG reports that Ibrahim Almustapha, a member of the House of Representatives, has stated that Nigeria’s current challenges are signs of greatness, and that the country is capable of overcoming them.

Almustapha, a member of the All Progressives Congress who represents Sokoto State’s Wurno/Rabah Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, stated this to newsmen on Sunday.

“To me, I see most of these challenges, especially the security challenge that the country is facing, as a sign of greatness; many great nations passed through many challenges on their way to greatness,” he said.

I believe Nigeria is in the same situation, and once we overcome them, Nigeria will undoubtedly become great in every aspect of human endeavor, including economy, infrastructure, power, and all others.

“What we need is for Nigerians to stop celebrating bad news and negativity and join together as a nation with seriousness to address the difficulties.

“Those who provide information and supplies to bandits and armed robbers should stop, and those charged with combating them should be more sincere.”

Although Nigeria had made considerable progress in the war against the Boko Haram insurgency in the North-East, Almustapha said that much more needed to be done.

“I believe the North-East has been experiencing relative quiet for some time now; obviously, the situation is not what it was when the APC took power in 2015,” he remarked.

He expressed confidence in the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), and the Federal Government’s ability to address the country’s security concerns.

According to Almustapha, the APC’s new leadership would reposition the party ahead of the 2023 general election.

“I believe you are talking about the new APC leaders led by Senator Abdullahi Adamu when you talk about discipline, resolve, and uprightness,” he remarked.

Almustapha predicted that the APC would easily win the national elections in 2023.

“Nigerians love APC, they love Buhari, and I’m sure you must have seen the tremendous progress made in terms of infrastructure since the regime came in 2015.

“If I should ask you which other political party exists in the country with that kind of credential certainly, you will reply that there’s non.

“No party can rival the APC in terms of progress; despite countless economic, social, security, and even COVID-19 obstacles, the APC administration has performed admirably.”

“Just look across Nigeria,” he added, “and you’ll find huge infrastructure development everywhere, as well as massive agricultural involvement everywhere.”

“I think the APC has done quite well,” Almustapha continued, “particularly when compared to the years of the Peoples Democratic Party.”

“I can confidently predict that the APC will win the general election in 2023 by a landslide.”

He voiced confidence in the party’s ability to remain unified in the run-up to the general election.

“Are you astonished that our National Convention went off without a hitch despite all odds?

“We had about eight chairmanship candidates, and they all came together and agreed to step down for Adamu; the same scenario will play out during the primary election, and it will go down without a hitch.”

“We in the APC are working for the welfare of Nigeria; we are not working for personal gain; we are working for the good of Nigeria as a whole, and we must agree to disagree on matters.

“Our convention election was largely based on consensus; this will be repeated in the primaries, and we will move forward as a party,” the congressman stated.
