Nigeria’s Troost-Ekong, Emmanuel Dennis, Others Win POTW Award For Watford

• Nigeria’s Troost-Ekong and Emmanuel Dennis have been awarded with LMA POTW award
• This was following Watford’s 5 – 2 win against Everton

Ekohotblog reports that Nigerian players, William Troost-Ekong, Emmanuel Dennis and other Watford players have won the LMA performance of the week (POTW) award.

This was due to their remarkable 5 – 2 thrashing of Everton during the weekend.

The League Managers’ Association (LMA) panel of chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Paul Ince, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett, Barry Fry and Rachel Yankey chose Watford after they hammered Everton to secure their first ever victory at Goodison Park and give Claudio Ranieri his first three points since taking charge at Vicarage Road.

After the humiliating defeat of 5 – 0 they suffered at Liverpool the previous week, the Hornets twice trailed on Merseyside but battled back to achieve a memorable victory thanks to Joshua King’s hat-trick and further goals from Juraj Kucka and Emmanuel Dennis.

Speaking after receiving the award Ranieri said: “Thank you to the LMA for this award and also thank you to my players for the performance at Everton.”
