EKO HOT BLOG reports that the National Youths leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Dayo Israel, called on the incoming administration to prioritize youth development.
This was during the 2023 presidential inauguration lecture held at the International Conference Center in Abuja.
In his words, “We urge the incoming administration to give priority to the development of our youths”.
This, he believes, will create an enabling environment for the nation’s youths to excel.
He further emphasized the importance of including a youth in any board the government would constitute.
Mr. Israel also commended President Muhammadu Buhari for signing the Not-Too-Young-To-Run Bill, which made it possible for thirteen youths to be elected into the tenth national assembly.
He said, “We appreciate the contributions of President Buhari in making it possible for youths to participate actively in politics”.
Mrs. Amina Mohammed, the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, in her remarks, advised the incoming administration to create job opportunities for youths to reduce social unrest.
She said, “The incoming administration must prioritize job creation for our youths to reduce social unrest”. Mrs. Mohammed also urged the government to build strong institutions that would ensure the rule of law and provide a framework for a just and equitable society.
