NIJ has graduated 33 students with distinction as it holds 50th Anniversary, 6th Convocation in Lagos state.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that a total of 33 grandaunts will bag first class certificates during her 50th anniversary and sixth convocation ceremonies at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Ogba, Lagos state.
In a statement by the spokesperson of the institute, Tolulope Ojemuyiwa, he said that the sixth convocation and 50th anniversary of the institute has been scheduled for Monday November 29 and Tuesday November 30, 2021 respectively at the Lagos campus.
Ojemuyiwa said the convocation will start on Monday, November 29 with a lecture to be delivered by the Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi.

The spokesperson further stated that the event will be graced with award of diplomas and certificates to students of four different sets from 2017 to 2021.
According to the statement, “The 6th convocation of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism Ogba-Ikeja, Lagos has been scheduled for Monday November 29 and Tuesday November 30, 2021 respectively at the Lagos campus.
“This edition is a unique one as it is coming at a time the institution is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
“The Institution has organised a Press briefing that preludes the ceremony at the Council Chamber on Tuesday November 9, 2021.
“Other activities for the ceremony are Convocation lecture titled: MEDIA, SECURITY AND NATION BUILDING is expected to be facilitated by Guest Speaker, His Excellency, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Executive Governor of Ekiti State on Monday November 29, 2021 at the institution auditorium by 11:00am, and exhibition of photographs and entrepreneural products produced by the graduating students.
“Presentation of certificates and award of fellowship will be done by the Chairman, Governing Council, His Excellency Chief Olusegun Osoba former executive governor of Ogun State on Tuesday November 30, 2021 by 11:00am. This includes deserving students of four graduating sets from 2017 to 2021.
“Over 908 graduands will be receiving certificates in different areas of study. National Diploma (ND)384, Higher National Diploma (HND)295, and Post Graduate Diploma (PGD)167.
“Certificate courses, Proficiency Certificate in Photojournalism (PCPJ)19, Effective Writing and Communication (EWC)43.
“There are 7 distinction candidates at National Diploma, 7 distinctions at Higher National Diploma, and 19 distinctions at Post Graduate Diploma levels.
“There are total of 129 Upper Credits at National Diploma (ND), 154 at Higher National Diploma (HND), and 123 at Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) level across the four sets of 2017 and 2021.”
