The President of the Student Representative Council (SRC), Bernard Victory has said that students of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism(NIJ) should expect a lot more in the forthcoming Student Week, than what they saw in last year’s edition.
Bernard victory disclosed that preparation for this year’s student week started almost immediately after the last year’s edition, in a bid for it to be an advancement of last years’.
Victory told EkoHot Blog that this year’s student week was themed “XLR8-Pushing Beyond boundaries” to have a vision whereby the student week can portray and depict the forwardness of the SRC.
“One of the uniqueness of XLR8 is the new initiative of the pre-student week, which one of the event is “NIJ Honour God,” Victory stated.
“The NIJ honour God” is a praise concert set aside for the students to give all accolades to God,” he added.
The XLR8 is set to hold on the 6th of May to the 11th of May, in the school premises with interesting and mind blowing lined up activities for each day.
The student week is a lecture-free week that gives students the opportunity to enjoy themselves for a whole long week, so students should take advantage of this opportunity and show up during the week, engage in all the activities and try to learn from every event presented to them in the week. Victory added.
Victory also reassured the students a high level of transparency in all the competitions that will be taking place during week, such as the sports day, the finals of the provost cup, the pageantry: selecting who is fit for the crown and lastly the awards night.
The Nigeria Institute of Journalism (NIJ) Student Week is organized by the Student Representative Council (SRC).
