The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has inaugurated a weather station at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, to enhance learning and research. The event took place shortly after the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the agency and the university.
EkoHotBlog reports that ascertaining climate conditions is key to daily human activities, but most Nigerian universities do not have a weather station to ascertain weather conditions and to run practical classes and research for staff and students.

Disciplines that need a weather station in carrying out practicals and research include agriculture, geography and other environmental sciences but the non-availability of such equipment adversely affect the quality of graduates most Nigerian Universities churn out.
It is on this premise that the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Nasarawa State University, Keffi. The agreements were signed during the inauguration of a weather station in the university to aid learning and research.
