The Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR) recently convened its 14th International Conference on Health Advances, Innovation, and Research (CHAIR), an event dedicated to addressing pressing health and environmental challenges in Nigeria.
The conference, held recently in Lagos, brought together researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders to deliberate on strategies to foster a healthier and safer environment.

He emphasized that the primary goal of CHAIR was to stimulate conversations on innovative solutions for improving public health and addressing socio-health issues in the country.

“The essence of this conference is to deliberate on how we can create a safer environment and enhance the health of our people,” Professor Obafunwa stated.
“We are focusing on critical health challenges, examining emerging pathogens in circulation, and proposing actionable solutions to mitigate their impact.”

“We need more financial support from the government to strengthen our health sector. This will enable us to tackle emerging health challenges and ensure a healthier population,” he said.
