Nine Insurgents Killed As Soldiers Rout Boko Haram In Gun Battle
At least nine Boko Haram terrorists were killed in Mainok, Borno state, after a gun battle with the Nigeria troops, the Nigerian Army has disclosed.
The troops had engaged in a gun battle with the insurgents on Wednesday.
The army’s spokesperson, Sagir Musa, announced the triumph of the troops in a statement.
He said gun trucks were also recovered from the insurgents, and two soldiers were slightly injured.

“Troops of Sector 1, Operation LAFIYA DOLE have successfully staged an ambush at identified Boko Haram terrorists crossing point at Mainok-Jakana axis in Kaga local government area of Borno state at about 1830 hours on the 13th of May 2020,” the statement read.
“So far, 9 Boko Haram terrorists lost their lives, two gun trucks mounted with anti aircraft guns have been captured and exploitation is ongoing by the troops. Two soldiers are slightly wounded.
“Situation in the area has been normalised.”
The war against insurgency has gathered momentum in recent weeks as the army continue to launch massive onslaught on the insurgents
