EKO HOT BLOG reports that two persons have been killed and five others injured when an old mast belonging to the Nigeria Telecommunications Limited fell on them in Katsina-Ala, headquarters of the Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State.
According to PUNCH Metro, the suspected government employees were working on the mast on Wednesday when a section of it collapsed and killed two people on the spot.

The Chairman of Kastina-Ala LGA, Alfred Atera, told journalists in Makurdi that the victims were dismantling the mast when tragedy struck.
“After loosing one side of the mast, suddenly the other part collapsed. Two of them (workers) died instantly, while five others were taken to a hospital,” the council boss added.

The state police spokesperson, SP Catherine Anene, confirmed the incident.
“Two people died; others are in a hospital,” the PPRO said.
The police spokesman said the vehicle was recovered, just as a manhunt had been intensified for the hoodlums.
