Union members have hit the streets of the commercial capital to express their discontent with the current state of the country. Beginning in the state capital, Ikeja, on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, protesters congregated at the Ikeja underbridge, engaging in songs, dance, and urging the government to attend to their grievances.
The union is demonstrating against security challenges and the elimination of fuel subsidies, which led to significant hikes in petroleum and food prices nationwide since May 2023.
Despite reaching agreements with the Federal Government after the subsidy removal, the union claims that the government has not fulfilled its commitments.
