EKO HOT BLOG reports that leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) will hold a joint briefing by 3 p.m. today to declare a nationwide indefinite strike.
According to Vanguard, the leaders of the organised unions have resolved their differences ahead of the planned indefinite strike.
The differences between the unions made only NLC embark on a two-day warning strike a few weeks ago without the participation of TUC.
NLC on the 5th of September had embarked on a two-day warning strike to force the government to address the mass excruciating suffering of Nigerians, especially workers.
According to sources who spoke with the platform, NLC and TUC after their separate organs’ meetings, will jointly hold a press briefing at 3 p.m. to announce an indefinite nationwide strike.
The decision of the labour unions will be announced by the unions following the Federal Government’s failure to address the suffering and other socioeconomic hardships occasioned by the removal of subsidy on Premium Motor (PMS), commonly known as petrol.
