The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has given the federal government a 21-day notice to fully resolve all the issues contained in the various agreements signed with its affiliate members.

The Nigerian Medical body warned the government to resolve its issues with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, MDCAN, the National Association of Resident Doctors, NARD, and the Medical and Dental Specialist Association in Basic Medical Sciences, MEDSABAMS.

The warning followed a National Executive Council meeting of the association in Edo State to discuss the current impasse between the government and resident doctors.

”In the event that the FG fails to implement the agreements after the expiration of the 21- days notice, NMA shall summon an emergency delegate meeting to review the progress made on the implementation of the agreements,” the statement read in part.
