Governor Ortom had, at every slight opportunities condemned violation of Benue state anti-open grazing laws by the Fulani herdsmen resulting in clashes with the farmers with hundreds of deaths recorded.

Consequently, the governor has also criticized the Buhari-led administration for failing and refusing to proscribe the criminal activities of armed Fulani herdsmen.

Ortom faulted the federal government for declaring the activities of members of the Independent People of Biafra(IPOB), whom he claimed had not taken the life of a single soul.

He added that rather than for the government to proscribe the killer Fulani herdsmen a terrorist group, it allegedly robs them on the heads and refuse to do the needful.

The federal government’s declaration of the activities of IPOB and ESN as a terror group and unlawful has always been a subject of controversies every now and then. While a sizeable number of Nigerians questions the federal government’s pronouncement of the group as a terror group, others say the description befits the group.

Also, Nnamdi Kanu has been known for his unrelenting effort to secure a Biafra Republic for the people of South East region after the infamous Civil War of 1967-1970.
