Nnamdi Kanu Compares Gov. Uzodimma’s Actions To Afonja’s Betrayal To Oduduwa People

Nnamdi Kanu states reason for comparing Governor Hope Uzodimma to Afonja

In a Radio Broadcast on Radio Biafra on the 17th of February, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu made a great comparison of the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma to Afonja the Are-ona-Kakanfo of the then Oyo empire.

Ilorin emirate is the capital of Kwara state, Southwestern Nigeria. It was established in the 18th century by Oduduwa people, it grew to become the Capital of the old Oyo empire.

To Afonja’s aid was Mallam Alimi – who was a Fulani settler from the Sokoto caliphate, together with the aid of a legion of Fulani warriors and slaves, and also Hausa slaves.

Afonja who successfully divided the old Oyo empire, got increasingly dominated by the Fulani he placed around him and started to loose power until his assassination by Abdul Salami son of Mallam Alimi his ally.

He was assassinated by Mallam Alimi’s son, Abdul Salami, Conquered Afonja to establish the Emirates of Ilorin and pledged allegiance to the Sokoto caliphate.

As an Islamic institutionalised emirate, Ilorin subjugated numerous towns in Oduduwa land and destroyed the former Oyo capital, Oyo Ile in 1837.

In the 1840’s, Abdul Salami in his quest to conquer Oduduwa land and subjugate its people, performed a jihad towards Ibadan where he was repelled by an army in Ibadan, securing a victory over his legion of men at Oshogbo.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu highlighted the fall of Ilorin to the Fulani caliphate as a result of Afonja’s betrayal to Oduduwa people. He went on to compare what Governor Hope Uzodimma is currently doing against the ESN, by inviting the joint task force to Orlu.

As he likened it to how the conquest of Ilorin Kwara State capital, was a very similar situation occuring in the Southeast.

Nnamdi Kanu claimed that the Fulani tribe are on a conquest over the whole of the Southeast and if not repelled, persons like Governor Hope Uzodimma will sell his brothers out into fulanisation, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.

He sounded it a clear warning that a person who came a distant 4th in an election letter becoming the first, and sworn in by the supreme court is on a rampage with his slave-masters.

Governor Hope Uzodimma contested under the platform of the APC, ousted PDP sworn in Governor Emeka Ihedioha – becoming the governor.

Governor Uzodimma recently took an action against the activities of the proscribed Indigenous People Of Biafra IPOB and the ESN by inviting the military Joint Task force to quench the starting fire, ESN.

Nnamdi Kanu went on to say that the whole Southeast Governors and the Ohanaeze ndị Igbo are all accomplices to the grand plan of betraying ndị Igbo and vowed not to let that happen.
