The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) has commenced the lifting of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, from the Dangote Refinery in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State.
Over the weekend, more than 100 NNPCL trucks arrived at the refinery, with the first batch of petrol successfully loaded. The Dangote Group confirmed this development through a video shared on their verified X page.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that this comes after Zacch Adedeji, Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and member of the Presidential Committee on the Sale of Crude Oil and Refined Products, announced that NNPCL remains the sole buyer of petrol from the refinery.
Adedeji also mentioned that while NNPCL will handle petrol distribution, other refined products like diesel can be lifted by interested off-takers. Furthermore, starting from October 1, NNPCL will begin purchasing crude oil from the Dangote Refinery using Naira.
Despite the successful lifting of petrol, there is still uncertainty regarding any potential changes in petrol pump prices.
Both NNPCL and the Dangote Refinery have yet to clarify the pricing structure, leaving consumers and market analysts awaiting further updates.
