In a statement issued by the party’s National Secretary, Comrade Oginni Olaposi Sunday, it was revealed that the decision was linked to the governor’s failure to comply with a summons to appear before a disciplinary committee. However, during a press conference at the party’s headquarters in Abuja, National Chairman Ahmed Ajuji clarified the situation.
Ajuji affirmed that the reports of Governor Yusuf’s suspension were unfounded and reiterated his status as a bona fide member and ambassador of the NNPP. He emphasized Governor Yusuf’s leadership and achievements in Kano State, stating, “We have no reason to suspend him. In essence, the NNPP did not suspend our Governor.”
Ajuji further criticized the individuals behind the purported suspension, labeling them as “expelled political comedians” and “hirelings” seeking relevance. He accused them of attempting to disrupt the party’s activities and challenge its leadership through legal means. Despite their efforts, Ajuji highlighted the party’s resilience and commitment to democratic principles.
The NNPP reiterated its focus on promoting good governance and sustainable democracy, with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf at the forefront of these efforts. Ajuji concluded by expressing confidence in the party’s unity and determination to overcome external challenges.
