NNPP Releases Fresh Statement On Kwankwaso Stepping Down For Atiku

NNPP has once again debunked rumours of alleged alliances with Atiku.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has debunked reports that its presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, will step down for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flagbearer, Atiku Abubakar, ahead of the 2023 election.

The National Publicity Secretary of the NNPP, Agbo Major, in a statement on Wednesday, said there is no truth in such speculations.

He added that the party is also not considering any alliance with the PDP for the 2023 presidential election.

According to Agbo, the only alliance the NNPP will consider is any party ready to work with it to ensure victory for Kwankwaso, but the former Kano State Governor would not be quitting the presidential race for any other candidate.

This online media platform gathered the clarification followed an earlier statement credited to the Secretary of the NNPP Board of Trustees, Buba Galadima, that the party may go into alliance with the PDP.

But Agbo, in his statement, said such an alliance only exists in the imagination of those spreading the mischievous rumour.

He said: “He (Kwankwaso) is determined to go all the way due to his passion to serve Nigerians.

“As a mass movement, NNPP welcomes electoral alliances from like-minded political parties in our quest to rescue our great country but insists that any such arrangement must be the one that would see them joining us to deliver our presidential candidate Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso FNSE and never the other way round.

“That the said report is a figment of the imagination of those who engineered it and we see it as antics of mischief makers and propagandists due to the towering profile of our candidate after the series of town hall meetings held so far.
