No administration since 1999 has achieved what I’ve done – Buhari brags

During his independence day speech today, 1st of October 2021, President Buhari seized the opportunity to boast about his achievements and remarked how no past president of Nigeria has done better than him in six years.

Since the beginning of democratic dispensation in 1999, Nigeria has had President Olusegun Obasanjo, Umaru Musa Yar’adua, Goodluck Jonathan and presently, President Muhammad Buhari.

In a broadcast that was televised nationwide to celebrate Nigeria’s 61st independence anniversary, President Buhari noted that

“Since coming to power, this administration has tackled our problems head-on in spite of the meagre resources.

“No government since 1999 has done what we have done in six years to put Nigeria back on track.

“We shall continue to serve the country: listen to all and protect our democracy and country,”

The president however noted that certain elements have tried to sabotage the gains his administration has

recorded and also disclosed that steps are being taken to tackle these problems.
