No Disparity With Premier League — Tebas Slams Real Madrid

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Javier Tebas, the president of La Liga, has taken a direct swipe at Real Madrid, dismissing the club’s claims of financial disparities between La Liga and the Premier League. Tebas refuted assertions made by Madrid, stating that Carlo Ancelotti’s side earns a comparable amount to Premier League clubs.

The distribution of television rights and the subsequent earnings for clubs in La Liga compared to their Premier League counterparts has been a subject of contention within Spanish football circles.

Tebas addressed this issue, aiming a dig at Real Madrid while highlighting the financial parity between the two leagues.

“Our clubs earn the same as Premier League clubs through national television rights,” Tebas asserted in his comments, as reported by Mundo Deportivo. He further emphasized that the claims made by Real Madrid about financial discrepancies were unfounded and suggested that the club tends to complain excessively.

Javier Tebas, La Liga president

Madrid, one of the world’s most successful and iconic football clubs, has been vocal about their concerns regarding the financial situation in La Liga.

However, Tebas challenged these grievances, stating that Madrid and Barcelona consistently feature at the top of the highest-income rankings globally. He expressed his confusion regarding the club’s persistent complaints, remarking, “I don’t know what else they want.”

Real Madrid recently faced disappointment in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, suffering a comprehensive 4-0 defeat against Premier League champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

The loss has undoubtedly added to the frustrations within the club and potentially contributed to their concerns regarding financial competitiveness.

Tebas’ comments highlight the ongoing discussions and debates surrounding the financial landscape of Spanish football.

As La Liga aims to compete with the commercial success of the Premier League, the league’s authorities, including Tebas, continue to address concerns and seek solutions to ensure a level playing field for all clubs.

While the financial dynamics between La Liga and the Premier League remain a topic of debate, Tebas’ assertion seeks to dismiss Real Madrid’s claims of financial disparity.

As the Spanish football landscape evolves, it is expected that further discussions will take place to address the concerns and create a sustainable and competitive environment for all clubs within La Liga.
