The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) says it is yet to release any guideline for post-COVID-19 flight resumption.

This was disclosed by the General Manager, Corporate Affairs of FAAN, Henrietta Yakubu in a statement issued on Saturday.

The statement was also posted on the official Twitter handle of FAAN

Yakubu said although FAAN is working “carefully and seriously” on releasing guidelines for post-COVID-19 travel the one currently in circulation is fake and should be disregarded.

“Our attention has been drawn to a statement released by a certain Tayo Olu to the effect that the federal government, through FAAN has released a post-COVID-19 travel guideline for air travellers.

“We want to state emphatically that although FAAN is carefully and seriously working on a guideline, the release did not emanate from us as it is still a work in progress,” the statement read in part.

The Air Authority, therefore, urged members of the public who might have seen the document to disregard it, noting that it is fake.

The Federal Government had earlier on May 27 shut down the airspace following the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.

The flight ban was recently extended by another one month till the end of May.
