No Increase in Fuel Price – NNPCL
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has dismissed rumors regarding an increase in Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) prices at its retail outlets.
In an interview with Daily Post on Tuesday, NNPCL spokesperson Olufemi Soneye clarified that he is unaware of any rise in fuel pump prices, countering claims that the cost per litre had increased from ₦1,030 to ₦1,060 in Abuja.

“There is no increase in gasoline price that I am aware of,” Soneye stated, refuting speculation of a price hike by the state-owned oil company.
Supporting this, Chinedu Ukadike, spokesperson for the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), confirmed that NNPCL’s ex-depot price remains stable.

He noted, “For independent marketers, there has been no new price hike. NNPCL continues to sell to us at the same rate. In Port Harcourt, it’s ₦1,040 per litre, while Abuja and Lagos are around ₦990 per litre.”
This clarification follows reports suggesting that the administration of President Bola Tinubu, through NNPCL, has increased the pump price of petrol, with revised prices indicating ₦1,025 per litre in Lagos and ₦1,060 per litre in Abuja.
