The England international went on to praise Fernandes, stating that he has been a good leader for the team even when he has not been the captain. According to Rashford, Fernandes has helped other players on the team become better leaders, and he has his full support.

The calls for Fernandes to be dropped as the captain of the team have been growing since their humiliating loss to Liverpool. The Portuguese midfielder was seen arguing with teammates during the game and appeared to be frustrated at times.

Despite this, Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, has backed Fernandes and stated that he will continue to be the team’s captain. The Dutchman also defended Fernandes’ behavior during the game, stating that he was just trying to motivate his teammates.

Manchester United will be looking to bounce back from their loss to Liverpool when they take on Real Betis in the Europa League on Thursday. The Red Devils are currently in third place in the league and will be hoping to secure a top-four finish this season.

“As the manager said, nobody is perfect and sometimes you want to win so bad you end up doing things that are a little bit out of character.

“I think he has been a good leader for us even when he has not been captain. He has helped other players become better leaders. I 100% support Bruno, and I am behind him,” Rashford said.
