Nollywood actress Kiitan Bukola recently opened up about her personal struggles and how her childhood experiences have influenced her perspective on marriage.
The actress during a recent interview with Biola Bayo explained her own understanding including her fears and reservations about it
Bukola’s main concern about marriage lies in her deep desire to provide a stable and loving home for her future children.
Having grown up without her father present in her life, profoundly impacted her views on marriage and family
She further explained that her father had several children, many of whom she has never met, with some connections only established through online platforms.
“The absence of paternal love and care has left a lasting impact on me,” she shared, reflecting on how these experiences have shaped her aspirations and concerns about family life.
The actress’ heartfelt revelations shed light on the emotional challenges she continues to navigate, as she strives to break the cycle and create a nurturing environment for her future family.
“I love marriage but at the same time, I am scared of it. Because I don’t want a situation whereby I will have my kids outside wedlock.
“There are some of my father’s children that I don’t know. The funny thing is I met some online. I didn’t have a father’s care the way I wanted it like I wanted that parental love – father, and mother together. Let me enjoy my home. It hurts me most of the time because I didn’t really enjoy it”, she said.
The actress also shared her humble beginnings, recounting how she hawked pounded yam and efo soup at Sabo in Ondo State as a child.
“I used to hawk pounded yam and efo back in the days. I will wake up at 3:30 am because we had to take it to Sabo in Ondo town”, she said.
