EKO HOT BLOG reports that Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has responded to the N500 million lawsuit filed against her by May Edochie, the first wife of actor Yul Edochie.
The lawsuit was filed after Sarah shared a photoshopped image of May’s family picture, which included Yul’s second wife, actress Judy Austin.
May Edochie took legal action against Sarah, who goes by the username @officialsarahmartins on Instagram, for sharing an edited image of her and her children.
In the lawsuit, May demanded a public apology and retraction of the defamatory publication, threatening to sue for N500 million in damages if Sarah failed to comply with her demands.
However, Sarah has denied making the utterances that May claims she made and stated that it was someone else named Sandra James who made the comments.
Sarah also claimed that she has been physically harassed by May’s followers and that she will not tolerate such behavior against her. She went on to say that her legal team will be taking action in response to the lawsuit.
Reacting to this on her Instagram page, Sarah stated: “I wasn’t the one that made the utterances she claimed I made. one Sandra James was the one that said all she claimed.
”No, I won’t keep quiet, especially when I’m being insulted, harassed and bullied by her so-called fans over what I did not do. Today, I was physically harassed by her uncultured and aggressive followers, and I won’t tolerate such behaviour against me again. You will hear from my legal team.”
The incident took place during the 2022 Christmas celebrations, when May shared photos of her and her four children on her Instagram page.
Hours later, Sarah photoshopped Yul, his second wife, and their baby boy into the picture, to which Yul responded with a message of peace, love, and joy.
This lawsuit has sparked a legal dispute between the two Nollywood actresses, with both parties taking a stance and refusing to back down. It remains to be seen what the outcome of this case will be.
