North Central APC Forum Rejects Ganduje’s Dissolution of Benue Excos
The North Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum rejected the dissolution of the Benue State party executives by National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje on Saturday.
The Forum deemed the dissolution unacceptable, asserting that Ganduje has no valid reason to remove the Benue executives. The North Central region, which Benue is part of, has consistently opposed Ganduje’s chairmanship ‘ reports.
Forum Chairman Alhaji Saleh Mandung Zazzaga addressed journalists in Jos, Plateau State, expressing discontent with Ganduje’s actions.
Zazzaga, who was a member of the Presidential Campaign Council in the recent election, stated, “The same executives Ganduje is illegitimately dissolving were instrumental in securing the Benue State governorship and other key positions for the APC.”

He said that the North Central APC has long opposed Ganduje’s chairmanship, arguing that the position should have gone to the North Central region following Abdullahi Adamu’s resignation, rather than to Ganduje from Kano State in the North West.
Zazzaga also revealed that a High Court in Makurdi, Benue State, had issued a restraining order against Ganduje’s attempt to dissolve the state executive led by Augustine Agada. Despite this, the Ganduje-led National Working Committee (NWC) announced the dissolution on the same day, disregarding the court order.
Accusing Ganduje of contempt of court, Zazzaga added, “Ganduje’s disregard for court orders is exposing our party to legal liabilities, including ongoing court cases related to his tenure as Kano State Governor and other corruption issues.”

He highlighted the North Central region’s significant contributions to the APC’s success since 2015, including their role in President Bola Tinubu’s 2023 election victory and securing five out of six governorship positions in the region.
