A former Presidential aide to Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has waded into the ongoing strife between Fulani herdsmen and the government of Ondo State.
A few days ago, the Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredo Akeredolu gave herdsmen lawful directives to leave Ondo State forest for good within 7 days.
However, this directive have been ignored by herdsmen and they are being backed up by the Northern Elders Forum.
According to the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), herdsmen residing in Ondo State should ignore the directive and stay put where they are in Ondo State.
The Northern Elders Forum told the State Governor that his directive was not recognized as it was in breach of Nigeria’s constitution.
However, Reno Omokri has come out to voice out his opinion regarding what he thinks about the reaction of the Northern Elders Forum, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
According to Reno Omokri, the Forum is threatening the unity of Nigeria for telling herdsmen to ignore the directive issued to them.
See the full tweet he posted on his official Twitter handle below:
“Northern Elders Forum is threatening Nigeria’s unity by asking herdsmen in Ondo state to ignore lawful directives given to them by the Ondo state Governor, @RotimiAkeredolu. The FG and NEF should also expect Southern beer sellers to ignore Kano’s restrictions on their operations”
Drawing references, Reno brought back the beer restriction that was done on Southerners on Kano over the selling of beer, and ignore the restriction done on them just like the Northerner Elders Forum has said to the herdsmen.
