Eko Hot Blog reports that AlhajiYerima Shettima, the National President of the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, has stated that no region in Nigeria can win the presidency without getting support from the Northern part of the country.
During an interview with Vanguard News on Saturday, Yerima said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu selected Kashim Shettima, the former Borno State governor, as his running late because he want to get support from the Northerners.

In his words, the Arewa Youth President said; “No section will rule this country with the support from the North. Tinubu’s calculation of picking Muslim as his running mate from the North is to get support from the Northerners, and it worked”
Speaking further, Yerima said, “We have to be cautious of things that will further divide this country. The previous administration succeeded in creating more divisions”
Lastly, he said, “Having a Muslim as senate president would not have been in the interest of Nigeria. The country needs to be stable so that agitation will reduce”
