Northwest Governor Behind Banditry, APC Alleges
The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) says it is privy to an intelligence report that Indicted a governor in the northwest of having a hand in the insecurity and other violent crimes that ravage the geopolitical zone.
The party’s spokesman, Yekini Nabena, who made the startling and strong allegation on Thursday in Abuja , did not mention which governor linked to the horrendous activities of unconscionable characters in the region neither did he disclose how his party came by such classified and confidential report.
Ekohotblog reports that Nabena, who called on security agencies to investigate the governor and ascertain the genuineness of the report, said he won’t go into details of the report because of the sensitive and delicate nature of security issue.
“Our security agencies have intelligence reports linking one of the Northwest governors of colluding with bandits to sponsor violent and criminal activities in the zone.
“I won’t give details because of the sensitive and security nature of the issue.
“However, relevant security agencies must as a matter of urgency investigate the report and determine its veracity, human lives is not what we should play political chess games with.
He described those he said those are seeking to profit from issue of insecurity, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as enemies of the nation and must be shunned.
Nabena, in his statement says the opposition PDP complicit in the plot.
The PDP has two governors in the Northwest zone- Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto and Bello Mohammed of Zamfara, a state troubled by banditry owing to its ungoverned swathes of land and forests under which criminals seek refuge and also perpetrate their heinous acts.

The PDP had, in the wake of the abduction of over 300 students of Government Science Secondary School Kankara in Katsina State, staged a protest in Abuja, calling for the removal of president Muhammadu Buhari over worsening and perennial insecurity.
