Fani-Kayode Slams Atiku Over Northerner Remark, Says You Won’t Treat Nigeria Like Wike
Eko Hot Blog reports that the event, which was held at the popular Jubilee Chalets in Epe had Lady Doja Otedola, former Lagos State First Lady as the mother of the Day while Rep. Wale Raji and Professor Amuni were the Chairman of the occasion and Guest Lecturer.
Others are Olori Aribike Adewale, HRM Oba Kolawole Aliru, HRM Oba Dr Olukayode Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, Oba Dr Babatunde Ogunlaja JP FMBE, Alhaji Akanni Seriki Bamu, Rt. Hon Adeyemi Ikuforiji, Hon Abiodun Tobun, Hon. Ismail Monsuru, Hon. Wale Anomo and representative of the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Mrs Folashade Tinubu-Ojo.
Speaking during his remarks, Hon Wale Raji said that the program was well conceived not only in commemoration of the DVC’s 55th birthday but also in remembrance of the celebrant’s late parents. Wale Raji stressed that religious education was significant in the growth of the nation via God-fearing leadership.
He averred that the display of proficiency and versatility in quality spiritual and religious education b winners of the competition alongside the fear of God are the hallmarks of good leadership and governance. He added that the election of God-fearing leaders is one of the solutions to unclog the country’s wheel of progress, stressing that the people must strive to critically look out for three attributes from candidates vying for various elective positions in the coming general election.
“When our children lack good basic home training, definitely, they can never grow up to be good adults. We are working towards the election, there are three things you must always look for in those people that we are going to vote for. Capacity, competence and above all, character. He who doesn’t have character, irrespective of his career, is nothing. If you are a professor without good character, it is nothing. Whatever you may be without good character you can never fear Almighty Allah because when a such person takes charge of the commonwealth of the people, schemes to embezzle them would be the top priority,” he said.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the grand birth anniversary was well attended by individuals, groups and associates who presented birthday gifts to the celebrant. They include members of the Epe Ogunmodede club, Epe club, the Stakeholders, the Royal bundles, Alaro Alumni, the LASUED Governing Council and Management team, the LASU Epe campus and LASUED Michael Otedola Campus Muslim community, LASUED staffers, the ideal social club, Concerned Nation Builders among others.
Professor Amuni, in his brief lecture, applauded the Onibon family for striving to restore societal values through the second edition of the Quranic and Islamic quiz competition. He also praised the synergy exhibited between the Muslim Teachers Association of Nigeria, MUTAN, Epe branch and the Onibon family.
He noted that the acts exhibited by Prof. Onibon aligned with the Islamic injunction which says that parents must be honoured while alive and at death.
Professor Amuni underscored the importance of the right Islamic education which he said is capable of eradicating the Almajiri syndrome and the foot soldiers of the dreaded Boko Haram terror group.
“I will salute Professor Onibon, from our discipline, we are very proud of you and we pray for you to move higher just like Professor Isaakk Oloyede, the Registrar of JAMB. You are our pride and we pray for your growth. We want to catch them young, we want to give them a good education, particularly, good religious education to our children, so that good governance can now move from cradle to the office”
“Once we are able to raise good children, they will grow up to become good adults who will in turn be able to provide good leadership and good governance,” he said.
He further said that researchers and current affairs analysts have pointed out that the main problems impeding the growth of the country is the lack of good governance.
He averred that the inculcation of good home training based on the excellent social norms and values (popularly known as ‘omoluwabi’), religious education, the fear of God and the love for humanity from the early childhood are the possible solutions suggested.
He, therefore, charged the family unit, which he described as an essential building block in society, to play actively its crucial roles in the social development of children.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in the Quranic competition (both for Juz Tabaraq and Juz Amma category), Epe Girls’Senior High School twice emerged champion while Odo-Obara Senior and Army Children Junior also emerged twice as 1st and 2nd runners-up respectively.
