Moreover, he affirmed that the President himself is content with his achievements. Shehu conveyed the President’s sentiments, stating, “President Buhari feels a sense of fulfillment.

Given the circumstances he faced, he has done remarkably well, to the best of his abilities. He is satisfied with his accomplishments and is now prepared to step aside, allowing the next president to contribute and build upon the solid foundations he has laid.”

It is worth recalling that President Buhari recently issued an apology to Nigerians, acknowledging the actions and inactions of his government and seeking forgiveness. However, Shehu emphasized that this apology should not be misconstrued as an admission of guilt on the President’s part. According to Shehu, “When treading cautiously, it is impossible not to make some mistakes. It is simply not feasible. Therefore, President Muhammadu Buhari’s apology does not signify acceptance of any wrongdoing on his part.”

Shehu went on to explain that although President Buhari may have inadvertently offended certain individuals, he is not a malicious person. Shehu emphasized that the President’s decision to apologize demonstrates a sense of accountability and responsibility.

With regards to security matters, Shehu expressed his belief that Buhari has made significant progress in combatting Boko Haram insurgents.

He further underscored that the military is now better equipped to tackle the country’s security challenges. Shehu highlighted the advancements made by the Army, including the acquisition of drone technology, among other resources. He asserted that much has changed, and in due time, President Muhammadu Buhari’s contributions will be duly recognized and appreciated.
