Another notorious bandit leader, Gajere, also known as Mai’Yar Gitta, has died from gunshot wounds.
Gitta was injured during a recent clash between his group and Nigerian troops in Dankurmi village, Dansadau Local Government Area, but managed to escape.
However, he succumbed to his injuries yesterday in Kawaye village, Bagega Ward, Anka Local Government Area, according to Makama Zagazola.
His death marks the latest in a series of prominent bandit leaders eliminated as Nigerian forces intensify their clearance operations.
Other high-profile bandit leaders killed during this period include Haliru Kachalla Sububu (Buzu), Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by a rival gang), Sani Black (killed alongside his brother and two children), Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi, and Kachalla Tsoho Lulu.
