New Innovation will be introduced in Npower
The Honorable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Dr. Betta Edu, was asked about her plans for Npower during an interview with NTA. Her response was as follows:
“We are preparing to introduce numerous innovative changes to the system. Nevertheless, the programs carried out by the previous administration have proven to be incredibly valuable and beneficial. Our focus will involve adjusting certain aspects, reflecting on past actions to rectify any shortcomings, and expanding initiatives to encompass a broader audience. Our attention will be directed towards generating millions of jobs, supplying assistance to households in remote parts of Nigeria that have been underserved, including palliatives and food.
This endeavor will fall under a comprehensive poverty alleviation plan, with a particularly intriguing aspect being the establishment of a Humanitarian Trust Fund. This fund will engage in substantial resource mobilization to meet the needs of Nigerians.”

In a turn of events that brings relief to N-power beneficiaries across the nation, Nasims, the managing body of the Npower program, has announced the reversal of altered beneficiary status to the original “BENEFICIARY” designation. This reversal comes after weeks of uncertainty and concern caused by an earlier update on the Nasims self-service portal that resulted in beneficiaries’ statuses being erroneously changed to “applicants.”
As of today, August 18th, 2023, Nasims officially confirmed that the N-power batch C beneficiaries’ status has been successfully updated back to “BENEFICIARY” on the npower program. Beneficiaries are encouraged to log in to the Nasims portal to verify their restored status and ensure the accuracy of their information.
In a related development, the Ministry responsible for overseeing the Npower program, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, welcomes Dr. Betta Edu as the newly appointed Minister. This leadership change is expected to inject new energy into the management of the Npower program, and there are hopes that the program will regain its former glory under her guidance.
This promising development also raises expectations for the long-awaited resolution of the issue of unpaid stipends for beneficiaries, which has been a concern for the past 8 months. With the reinstatement of beneficiary status, beneficiaries remain optimistic that their pending stipends will be cleared soon.
