The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps has warned against extortion of examination candidates by owners of tutorial centres.
This warning was made in Ado-Ekiti where the operator of a popular tutorial centre was arrested for defrauding three hundred students.
EkoHotBlog gathers that the Tutorial Center, registered Jamb Candidates for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination with 7,500 Naira, as against the 4,700 Naira stipulated by the examiners.

Security and Civil Defence Corp who acted on a tip-off went undercover and nabbed the owner of the tutorial center.
Aside paying for the 7,000 naira coaching Level, the center collected 7,500 naira from applicants and also plagiarized the “Sweet Sixteen” Booklet that JAMB provides for candidates.
While speaking to newsmen the Suspect said the fee charged were to cater for the academic needs of the candidates, and not the Exam Fee alone. His assertion was also corroborated by the Governor of Tutorial center owners in Ekiti State
