Lagos NULGE Induction: No Room For Thuggery And Hooliganism In Unionism – Comrade Ogunfowora Sewanu
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos State President of the National Union of Local Government Employee (NULGE), Comrade Ogunfowora Sewanu, has warned the newly inaugurated branch executives against thuggery and hooliganism.
Comrade Ogunfowora made this statement during his welcome speech at the Day 2 of the NULGE induction and retreat programme on Tuesday, 13th February, 2024 in ASCON, Badagry.
“Let me say it with all sense of emphasis that the era of Unionism characterized by thuggery and hooliganism has gone. The modern practice is scientific approach where we consult, deliberate and negotiate to achieve our aims,” Ogunfowora stated.
“That is not to say we won’t vehemently reject and condemn all anti-union policies but it will be done following all labour rules of engagements,” he said.
The guest speaker admonished the branch excos on using modern methods such as negotiation, dialogue, bargaining to achieve their goals.
Dignitaries present are the Former Lagos NULGE President, Super Comrade Afolabi Ajose Semako, First Female Lagos State NULGE President, Senior Comrade Dr. Regina Iyabode Obasa (Ph.D), Senior Comrade Akeem Adeleye, National Auditor of NULGE, Comrade Bello Atanda Akeem, amongst others.
