Nzekwe, a nurse from Ezinifitte in Aguata Local Government Area, claimed she took this action because the child had stolen money from her.
She explained that she heated the iron on a stove and used it to scald the child’s back after he refused to confess. Nzekwe confessed her actions to officials from the Anambra State Ministry of Women’s Affairs and Social Welfare, led by Commissioner Ify Obinabo, following her arrest.
Nzekwe told the commissioner, “I was suffering because of this boy.
After my recent surgery, I returned home and found money missing. I didn’t plug the iron in; I just heated it on the stove to discipline him.”
EKO HOT BLOG earlier reported that Amarachukwu Nzekwe, was arrested in Anambra State for severely injuring her 13-year-old nephew with a hot laundry iron.
The victim, identified as her 13-year-old nephew, was allegedly locked in the house without food frequently.
Commissioner Obinabo stated that Nzekwe would be prosecuted, emphasizing that such behavior would not be tolerated in Anambra State.
Nzekwe was subsequently handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.
