The National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed a seven-man Caretaker Committee for the party’s Benue chapter.
The Caretaker Committee will be led by Hon. Benjamin Omale as Chairman, with Prof. Ben Angwe, former Director General of the Human Rights Commission, serving as Secretary.
The other members include Richard Mzungweve, James Orguga, Barr. Terhemen Ngbea, Helen Agaigbe, and Barr. Ali Francis Adah EKO HOT BLOG reports.
This move follows the NWC’s dissolution of the Hon. Austin Agada-led State Working Committee during its weekly meeting at the National Secretariat in Abuja.
The decision comes in the wake of a Benue High Court order restraining the NWC from removing the Agada-led committee.
In his remarks during the inauguration of the Caretaker Committee, APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje emphasized the need for unity among the party’s factions in Benue. He tasked the committee with resolving internal conflicts and overseeing the upcoming local elections in the state.
