EKO HOT BLOG reports that Former Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, had earlier been declared winner of the primary after reportedly polling 113,309 votes. Senator Nwoko was said to have secured 2,612 votes, while Maryam Ali reportedly scored 40 votes.
Speaking during a press conference in Abuja on Friday, Okobah alleged that the result announced did not reflect what transpired during the primary election.
According to him, records gathered from the field showed that Nwoko won the contest with 123,000 votes, while Okowa secured about 5,000 votes.
“From our records, Senator Ned Nwoko won overwhelmingly with 123,000 votes, while Dr Ifeanyi Okowa secured only about 5,000 votes. We make this statement confidently because we have evidence from the field,” he said.
Okobah stated that Nwoko’s camp had video evidence, agents’ reports and ward level records from all 98 wards in the senatorial district to support its claim.
He further alleged that manipulation of the process began before election day, claiming members of the electoral panel were lodged in government VIP facilities and remained inaccessible to aspirants and supporters.
The lawyer also accused some officials assigned to conduct the exercise of failing to appear at polling venues, while delegates were allegedly intimidated and disrupted by violence.
“There was no proper accreditation, transparent voting, honest counting, and genuine collation. In many places, what they called an election was nothing more than a political fraud dressed in party colours,” Okobah added.
He called for the cancellation of the results and demanded a full review of the process.

Reacting, APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, said the party had yet to officially release the primary results, adding that the matter remained before the appeal committee.
