NYCN Epe Coordinator Urges Calm After Vandalism of High Tension Cable
The Coordinator of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in Epe, Com.Moibi Ibrahim, has called on the youth in the community to remain calm and avoid any form of destructive actions after the recent vandalism of the high-tension cable that are newly installed.
The cable, which was located around Sala (Isimi Lagos), was damaged shortly after it was set up, that led to a widespread power outage in the area.
In a statement, Moibi expressed his disappointment over the incident, stating that the cable was meant to improve power supply and boost development in Epe.
“This cable, installed just last week, was intended to benefit us all by enhancing electricity in our community. Sadly, some individuals have chosen to destroy what should help us,” he said.
Moibi urged the youths to refrain from acts of vandalism, emphasizing that such actions harm the progress and growth of Epe.
He pleaded for cooperation in safeguarding infrastructure that is essential to the community’s development.
“We must work together to protect the structures that are meant to uplift our community.
I want to encourage everyone to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity, and also hold each other accountable,” he added.
The NYCN Coordinator assured residents that collective efforts are needed to build a brighter future for Epe and he emphasized the importance of unity in achieving the desired progress.
The appeal comes as the community deals with the fallout of the blackout caused by the damaged cable, which has affected many households and businesses.
